Mechanical Properties

Often misunderstood, all thermoplastics degrade and lose mechanical strength when heated multiple times.  And the rate of degradation increases with temperature.   

Through years of research, SuperFUSION has developed a unique extrusion process that dramatically reduces heat degradation, ensuring that our finished weld rod product is as close to raw material as is technically possible.  That’s why we only ever rely on laboratory controlled, 100% virgin polymers. 

Regrind and recycled materials are notoriously unreliable with wildly varying mechanical properties, which makes them unsuitable for weld rod production.

As you’d expect, SuperFUSION weldrod is wrapped and packaged immediately after manufacture to avoid exposure to any airborne contaminants.

UV stability

All SuperFUSION weldrod products are protected from UV degradation with world class UV stabilisers.
